    Hey
Just downloaded your sock pattern. Thanks! What a pretty sock, I love the way the cable runs down the side of the heel . I am sort of a beginner, so this will have to be one that I try after I get a few simple ones done.
I’m new to blogging also, just made a new site about a week ago (not much on it yet). Your site said to bookmark your site. I’ll try to do that – I’ll have to figure it out first….

  2. 2 Carol June 23, 2007 at 5:27 pm

Hmmm, the pdf doesn’t seem to download onto my computer? Anyone else having problems?

  3. 3 Beth June 23, 2007 at 5:56 pm

I love the sock pattern! I just downloaded the pdf and cant wait to make my own. Thanks!

  4. 4 Sheila June 23, 2007 at 5:58 pm

This is a beautiful sock and I am certainly going to knit it. Thanks for your generosity. It might turn out to be the next sock everyone knits.

  5. 5 purlingplans June 23, 2007 at 6:25 pm

Congratulations Nicole!! It’s a gorgeous pattern, you should be very pleased! And what fun to see your pattern on Ruth’s foot – I love it 🙂

  6. 6 Dave June 23, 2007 at 6:39 pm

  9. 9 Christi June 23, 2007 at 7:40 pm

Thank you so much for the gorgeous pattern. I will add this to my wanna-knits!

  10. 10 Nicole June 23, 2007 at 9:21 pm

Hey – If anyone is having a problem downloading the pattern (after a few tries), just leave a comment or send me an email (it’s along the sidebar)… Carol and I managed to get it to work for her… either way, if you want one, I’ll get you a copy of this pattern!

  11. 11 jillian June 23, 2007 at 9:52 pm

  12. 12 Karrie June 23, 2007 at 11:25 pm

No problem dowloading.. I am totally drawn in by that gorgeous heel! Now to see if I can make it fit my tiny foot….

  13. 13 Tijm June 24, 2007 at 2:15 am

It’s so nice of you to give us the pattern for free!! The sock is beautiful!!!!
Next time send your own pattern to Knitty, then you get famous in the Knittingworld.

Hey there…. I Love Those Socks! Love Em!! Nice job Nicole
I’m going to try the pattern, soon. How do they look in a multi-colored yarn? Have you tried that or I’m thinking solid colors show off the stitch pattern better?

  15. 15 Breibeest June 24, 2007 at 4:55 am

Such gorgeous socks! I really like the way the pattern flows into the heel flap. Congratulations for writing up such a great pattern, and thank you for making it available to us! I am putting it in my Ravelry queue 🙂

Greetings from Breibeest, another Dutch knitter.

  16. 16 Floderten June 24, 2007 at 6:29 am

Oh, so pretty…! I wish I wasn’t on a yarn diet, but 2008 is sock year for me (low on cash = socks!), so these will definitely be in the sock pattern pool. 😀 Thanks so much for choosing to let people download them for free!

Trine xx (Denmark, because people seem to be adding their nationality ;))

  17. 17 Jennifer June 24, 2007 at 9:58 am

Thanks for a beautiful pattern. I am planning on making them for a July bd. I found your pattern through ruthless knitting.

  18. 18 Bryony June 24, 2007 at 11:31 am

Added to my queue, most definitely 😀 YUM!

  19. 19 Knit~it~good June 24, 2007 at 11:40 am

I love those socks! They are so beautiful! Thanks for the the pattern.!

  20. 20 Miri June 24, 2007 at 12:39 pm

Beautiful! I think they’d work in a subtly variegated yarn, too.
I do seem to have trouble downloading. I click “I agree” to the copyright agreement, then my browser goes in connecting mode and never connects to anything. Help!

  21. 21 ~Jo~ June 24, 2007 at 1:06 pm

Thanks for sharing your lovely pattern, I am SO going to knit that soon! 🙂

  22. 23 Miri June 24, 2007 at 1:55 pm

Never mind about the download problems! Third method was the charm, I guess. Thanks for a lovely pattern.

  23. 24 ...dotty... June 24, 2007 at 3:06 pm

Wow, this is a beautiful sock…………..thank you SO MUCH for the pattern !

At first, I thought that it wasn’t going to download……after clicking on open, it would take me back to the part where you agree to terms,……..but I just left that open and came back here to check the comments for help, and it opened in its own sweet time.

    And SWEET it IS !

Can’t wait to get it on my needles !

Found you through a photo on flickr, by the way !

  24. 25 prunila June 24, 2007 at 7:00 pm

This sock is beautiful, and I love that color too!!!

  25. 26 mapetty June 24, 2007 at 7:54 pm

I feel so left out! I have no clue how to knit or crochet or anything else…. but those socks are absolutely gorgeous!!! I am definitely a sock person – I wear knee high socks every day – and I need a pair of those! Anybody want to volunteer? 🙂 All kidding aside, beautiful. Great job….

  26. 27 lv2knit June 24, 2007 at 9:07 pm

  30. 31 knitplaywithfire June 25, 2007 at 3:44 pm

I was also having problems downloading this file. It finally worked in Explorer. I kind of forgot that it was trying to download and just happened to check back and there it was. The pattern is lovely. It will be added to my pile of sock patterns to be knit up.

  31. 32 Little Red June 25, 2007 at 3:58 pm

Ooooh!! I can’t wait to try these! I’m loving the design of the heel and can think of some fun sock yarns to try it in… yay! Thanks so much for sharing this — this totally made my 9-to-5 day at the office. 😉

    Thanks again!

Hope you don’t mind but I’ve added your blog to my blogroll. I keep losing wonderful blogs like this unless I make a note of them 😉

  42. 43 Becky June 27, 2007 at 2:05 pm

This is a fantastic sock pattern and it is very generous of you to give it away. Unfortunately, I’m also having trouble downloading but I suspect its due to my agonizingly slow dial-up connection. I’ll keep trying and even give it a try at the library if I can. But if you are emailing anyone else, will you add me to the list? (beckyslists at gmail) Thanks so much in advance!

  43. 44 Cookie June 27, 2007 at 3:08 pm

    Hello Everyone,

I am a golfer myself and I like to play whenever I get a chance.
A short while ago, a very good friend of mine told me about a great golfing equipment and accessories website that has discounted prices on all their products, same day shipping in most cases and there is no state sales tax, they are paying that.
So if any golfer here is ready to save some money on quality products at highly discounted prices, you might want to check out their site at; http://hoffmangolf.com

  83. 84 cori w November 10, 2007 at 7:52 pm

great socks! i just finished mine, i love them. thanks for the pattern!

  84. 85 Gail Gary December 8, 2007 at 2:12 pm

Beautiful pattern. I haven’t knit them yet, but I just downloaded these. Thank you so much for offering this free pattern!

And I think it’s great you had the copyright proviso furnished straight-out! People need to be totally cognisant of these things. I have to gently but firmly remind people all the time that just because a knitting pattern has been published, it is not necessarily something they can just go to a Xerox machine and reproduce for their own benefit and distribute. And the thing is…people don’t necessarily want to cheat anyone, they just don’t think. I may give them a knitting magazine to keep or a occasionally loan a book, but I find people usually want to go out and buy the book for themselves, and so they do.

This is a lovely design, both simple and elegant, and I can’t wait to knit them. Thanks again!

I am knitting your socks and love the pattern. I’m using Chameleon Colorworks. The yarn is self striping but the pattern still shows up. It was fun to pick up the gusset stitches in a slightly different way. Also the heel flap pattern was new to me.

    Thank you!

I just finished my first sock of 9 to 5 and am casting on sock #2 tonight. I used Dream in Color, a hand painted superwash merino in a beautiful cranberry. It has some subtle shading the primarily solid color shows of the twisted brain so well. I LOVE this pattern. I mostly love the yarn but I can see it will pill easily. I will post a picture to blogspot really soon! Thanks for the pattern!

It is quite a lovely pattern.
